State of Pennsylvania Department of Insurance Requirements
  • Producers are required to complete a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
  • Exams must be monitored by a disinterested third party.
  • 24 excess credit hours may be carried forward to the next renewal period.
  • Courses are repeatable every 2 years.
  • Course provider is responsible for reporting course completion to the state.
  • If producer does not complete their credits on time, they have one year within the license renewal date to complete required continuing education credits and pay the lapsed license fee of $165.00.
  • Failure to comply with C.E. requirement within 1 year of expiration date results in loss of license, producer must reapply as new applicant.

    • Exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party
    • Proctor must be present during entire length of final exam
    • After completing and submitting exam online, a downloadable version of the Affidavit for Test Administrator form must be printed out from the computer which the exam was taken and signed by the proctor.
